This is the last week of the semester, can you believe it is here already. This will be a wrap up week trying to make sure we have as many objectives mastered as we can. We will also be working with decimals this week. And, as always, we are continuing our work with our math facts.
Here is a cute poem that I found about decimals by Grandpa Tucker:

We decimals are line up guys.
Plus and minus will turn out fine
If you will form us in a line.
To add and subtract all you must know
Is to keep us dots all in a row.
Don't worry what's on either side
If you line us up we'll march with pride.
When I am under the division sign
Put a dot above me on the line.
If there's no number to our right
No need to worry through the night.
Just use a zero in each empty space—
Don't move us, cause we're in the right place.
Keep the two of us in a little stack.
In division we go piggy back.
Multiplication with us gets hairy,
Multiplication with us gets hairy,
That's then we are a little scary.
We do a slide step, then a bow,
Listen up, I'll show you how.
First multiply and forget we're there
Leave us out and we won't care.

Above the line start at each dot,
Look to the right, see what you've got.
Count up the spaces there on the right
Add them all up and hold the sum tight.
Now use the slide step, just start on the right,
Remember the sum, keep that number in sight.
Slide past that many, stop and now bow.
Drop the point there, now you know how.
Yes, decimals are usually line up guys
But for multiplication we apologize.
