Control at the service line proved to be the winning difference for the Lady Tigers.Coming off a loss at Kingman Academy of Learning last week, the volleyball team from Telesis Preparatory Academy, Lake Havasu Charter School and home schooling swept visiting Bullhead City Mohave Accelerated Learning Center 25-10, 25-18, 25-21.“The areas we needed to work on we had covered this time,” said Lady Tigers head coach Amy Webert. “This time, they attacked.”Tigers’ Erica Quebral had seven points off the service line in Game 1, including 2 aces. She added another three with an ace in Game 2. Meanwhile Victoria Guzman added six services points in Game 2.In Game 3 the Lady Patriots made a mini-run, getting within three late. But the Tigers’ Emily Kuczynski served two in a row and had the final kill for the victory.“That felt amazing to be in that position to win it,” Kuczynski said. “”They were a good team and they played hard. We just played harder.”The Tigers get to serve up another dose of home cooking this week, when they face the Scholars Academy Thursday at the Lake Havasu City Community Center.“We’re going to work on maintaining momentum for the next game,” Webert said. “And I’m going to have our veterans working with the younger girls.”Game time Thursday is 5 p.m.
